Everyday Eye Tracking Through Extended Reality: So Close Yet So Far?
In this talk, I will provide an overview of my research in extended reality (including virtual and augmented reality) and its applications to enhance our daily lives. For the Eyes4ICU audience, I will focus on projects that use eye tracking and eye-based human-computer interaction within extended reality. I will argue that by combining sensing and visualization, extended reality technologies (such as smart glasses) offer a unique opportunity to bring eye tracking research into everyday life. Specifically, I will discuss projects on gaze guidance and gaze behavior analysis in the context of mental health.
